EVENT: “How Disinformation is Sabotaging America.”

WHEN: September 12 at 7 pm. 

WELCOME to a presentation by Barbara McQuade as she discusses her new book: “Attack from Within: How Disinformation is Sabotaging America.” The book dissects the tactics of disinformation, explains why they work, and shows how technology is exacerbating the problem. The book also uncovers how disinformation is harming democracy, public safety, and the rule of law. McQuade offers some proposed solutions.

Barbara L. McQuade is a law professor at the University of Michigan, where she teaches courses in criminal law, national security and civil liberties, and data privacy.  She is also a legal analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. From 2010 to 2017, McQuade served as the U.S Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan and was appointed by President Barack Obama.
