More about some of Temple's many other Groups:

  • Shiva Minyan Leaders Group Our Temple now has a lay Shiva Minyan Leaders Group available to conduct shiva minyan services during the shiva period in addition to Rabbi Klein and Cantor Sharlein. Our group has trained with Rabbi Klein and the members are now available to conduct services at your request. Arrangements should be made by contacting the Rabbi.

  • Garden Chavurah Our Garden Chavurah cares for the Temple's beautiful gardens. It is committed to creating and maintaining our garden spaces under the umbrella of the Wolin Memorial Aitzim Chayim (Trees are Life) Fund, to create an embracing outdoor space that will further enrich the bonds of the whole community. If you are interested in joining with us, email the Chavurah or call the Temple Office.  Also, consider financially supporting the several Temple Funds supporting our gardens and grounds.

Volunteer Central

Temple depends on the hard work of many dedicated volunteers, and any of our Committees or Arms would welcome another set of helping hands. Here, we highlight a few current volunteer opportunities:

  • Kaballat Panim (Welcoming Faces) Ushers

Anyone and everyone is cordially invited to join Temple Emanu-El’s Kaballat Panim (Welcoming Faces).  Our usher corps meets and greets people as they enter our Temple sanctuary. No experience is necessary –– just a desire to make Temple a more welcoming place, and a few hours of your time each month.  Ushers are needed for Shabbat services (Friday evenings and Saturday mornings), as well as for holiday services. For more information, or to volunteer your time, please contact Barbara Levitt or Bob Levitt

  • Technology Committee

The Temple needs a Technology Committee to provide input on a range of technology issues, from computers, to software, to phone systems.  Committee Members do not necessarily need technical expertise--practical experience with selecting technology solutions would be valuable. For more information, contact Susan Kirschner.

  • Traffic Volunteers

We need volunteers Sunday mornings to help direct traffic in the Temple and JCC parking lots, when our kids are coming to and leaving Religous School. If you would like to volunteer (or would like more information about doing so), email or call the Education Office.
